With precision moulding, the new Shaw 650s will set a new standard in quality for this size of racer. We are now at the point where boat 1 has all bulkheads and keelbox in place; the foredeck fits perfectly, and the cockpit mould is complete, with the first cockpit being laid up to fit shortly.

One learning from the wooden boats; in the event that the prod line somehow gets pulled through the turning block, it is almost impossible to rethread without access to the foredeck interior. In addition, the foredeck lacks ventilation – important given the sumptuous accomodation inside Therefore the foredeck is moulded with a hatch allowing access to to the prod tube and block directly behind the collision bulkhead.

The rig, deckgear and foils will then be installed thereafter.
