Downwind under kite in the light

Little gust, little hike

Low winds, not low speed

Money Shot Ghosting Downwind

Light wind sailing Shaw 650 style
Taking out on the water after some lousy Auckland storms for the last few weeks, the lads enjoyed some good sailing in 3-6 knot breeze.
Initial impressions:
‘The boat is very well balanced and easier to sail than No Limits – might be the good foil profiles, the lighter displacement or bigger bulb’
‘Sails set well, as we move up the wind range, we could think about dropping the bridle height and flattening out the main; for the light stuff the boat is powered up really nicely’
‘In another 2-3 knots, we’d be just starting to lift out and plane downwind on a reach’
‘She looks SWEET’
Testing is continuing with some stronger wind testing which will show the other end of performance.
