Shaw Cockpit
OK, so Money Shot is now fully rigged, and awaiting Auckland’s first nice weather day for a full on fang up and down the Waitemata.
A few innovations found on the first production composite Shaw coming out of New Zealand includes:
- full 3mm EVA deck (black is a NZ national colour, white, grey also available) for comfort and non slip
- full carbon rig with synthetic rigging for trial only (class with use dyform until synthetic is proven to work
- load path sails (class uses kevlar, pentex or loadpath at choice of owner)
- FEA tested construction which has acheived significant strength gains in the boat while optimising weight
- enhanced bulb shape minimising drag while providing substantially more self righting power

Self righting tests have been conducted, and now all that remains is to continue construction on boat 2 and 3. Plus go for a real decent vang down Auckland Harbour.
