Shaw “Moneyshot” up and out

Despite some fairly average weather, the first production Shaw has been undergoing testing and a little evening sailing as well.

Significant weight savings from the full carbon rig seem to help the boat’s ability to self right, with better than expected results in the self righting tests.  There are some weight savings from synthetic rigging, but we are still testing this for feasibility in the class.

Now, we just wait some decent Auckland weather (a tough ask these days) to see what the boat is capable of!

In the meantime, boat 2 is well under way, and boat 3 will follow straight on her heels.
